Round 1 Match 2

This match pits very soft and angular Arsenuranospathite against the extremely hard hexagonal Corundum.

It's a battle between arsenuranospathite - a mouthful of a name though you wouldn't really want a mouthful of this mineral - and corundum, Mohs hardness 9 standard and best known for its gemstones ruby and sapphire. Arsenuranospathite features aluminium, uranyl groups, arsenate groups, fluoride and a lot of water crystallised into alluring square plates, while corundum shows off its sparkling beauty best when polished. It's a hard choice, elemental cocktail or sparkling gemstone?
